Vaccinium corymbosum

Highbush blueberry is a deciduous shrub with numerous multistem and upright twiggy branches forming a rounded and compact shape. About 6-12 feet high and wide. Reddish-green spring leaves turn blue-green in summer and red, yellow, orange, and purple in fall. White or light pink, bell-shaped flowers in drooping clusters which produce edible, blue fruit.

Loved by humans, songbirds, small mammals their twigs and foliage are eaten by deer and rabbits. Because of their food value and spectacular red fall foliage, these shrubs are excellent for naturalized landscaping. Acidic and or sandy soil is a must for these plants.

Prune as needed in late winter beginning in the third year after planting. Arrives to you in a 2 gallon pot. Approximately 12-18".

*Please note: Our native plants are field-grown and untreated with pesticides or fertilizers (how it should be!) Because of this, some varieties may show spots, browning or holes in the foliage during the fall months. Our plants have been organically treated if needed and are healthy and strong.
