Crataegus viridis
Green Hawthorn is a native deciduous tree commonly found on the eastern coast of the US. It's often noted for his abundance of red fruit, or berries, that appear in September and last through the winter. They are technically edible, however its usually best if the berries are reserved for birds over the winter. Tree flowers in spring and is an excellent nectar source for pollinators. Tree will mature to 30 feet tall and wide. Excellent specimen tree for your winter gardens.
Plant Green Hawthorn in full sun in dry to average soil. Hawthorn will tolerate some drought in warm months and can tolerate some light shade if planted under canopy trees. Its disease resistance and resistance to air pollution makes it a great choice for urban plantings or along streets.
Arrives to you in a 2 gallon pot, about 2-4' tall.
