Dianthus 'Frosty Fire'

Also known as a "Carnation" this variety of Dianthus features double, fiery red blooms. Nice blue-green foliage and lengthy blooming periods are also great features. Dianthus makes a great cut flower and is ideal for containers, garden borders, and modern landscapes. A cottage garden is not complete without several Dianthus. They also have a wonderful spicy-clove aroma! 

Plant in full to part sun with well-drained garden soil. These beauties are heat tolerant, deer resistant, and attractive to pollinators! Remove spent flowers to encourage more buds to form. Pruning plants back hard after blooming will encourage them to survive for years. 

Plant in the garden with Geraniums, Petunias, Pansies, Echinacea, Penstemon, Rudbeckia, Agastache, Iris, and Salvia as companions.
