Dianthus Star™ 'Eastern Star'

This variety of Dianthus features fragrant red flowers with a deep maroon eye and white stamens. Silver-blue foliage and lengthy blooming periods make this an attractive addition to the garden. Blooms are often two inches in diameter on top of sturdy stems. They are ideal for containers, garden borders, cottage gardens, and modern landscapes. Dianthus makes a great cut flower, too- they have a wonderful aroma! Expect blooms from late spring to early summer.

Plant in full sun with well-drained garden soil. These beauties are heat tolerant, deer resistant, and attractive to pollinators! Remove spent flowers to encourage more buds to form. Pruning plants back hard after blooming will encourage them to survive for years. Self-sown seedlings may be moved in fall or early spring.

Plant in the garden with Geraniums, Petunias, Pansies, Echinacea, Penstemon, Rudbeckia, Agastache, Iris, and Salvia as companions.

Arrives to you in a quart-sized pot.
