Deschampsia cespitosa 'Goldtau'

Also called Golden Dew Tufted Hair Grass.

Native to North America, Deschampsia 'Goldtau' is a tufted, cool-season grass that does well in full sun to part-shade with moist soil. Blooms from summer into fall and is very attractive to birds. Its flowers are start as a chartreuse-yellow and fade to bronze . It's one of the few ornamental grasses that performs well in shade. Black walnut tolerant and nice when used in flower arrangements.

'Goldtau' is slightly smaller than the species and works well in small spaces. An excellent choice for mass plantings, borders and meadows. Gold-toned blooms perform best and are most prolific in cooler climates.
