Commonly called Persian Violet. At early spring bloomer with heart-shaped, glossy leaves that support small, but very showy magenta flowers that appear in March. Blooms are very abundant, and at their peak can completely cover the leaves. This is a very small perennial reaching only 6" tall and wide, so it's recommended to plant in masses. Extremely cold tolerant.
