Crape Myrtles are a family of flowering trees and shrubs that are native to Asia, but have been grown in large numbers in north America for hundreds of years.  They are a garden staple, due to their extremely fast growth and huge flower display in the summer months. Crape myrtles can grow up to 2 feet per year! Its important to stay on top of pruning to ensure the tree remains in a clean tree form.
