Lagerstroemia indica v. pink velour

Although originally native in Asia and Japan, the Crape Myrtle has become naturalized in much of the southern US, particularly in Virginia and the Carolinas. In cooler zones Crape Myrtle remains more compact and shrub-like.

Ease of care contributes to the Crape Myrtle's popularity although the bright fuschia blooms of 'Pink Velour' would be worth working for. Blooms appear on new growth so pruning should be done in early spring after the threat of hard frost has passed.

Give these beauties full-sun and water liberally until established and they will reward you with their long-lasting summer blooms.

Arrives to you in a 3 gallon-sized pot as shown in photo 4.
