Also called black stem elephant ear.

Colocasia fontanesii is the gold standard in elephant ears. It features large, waxy deep green leaves that are slightly lobed with no veining on the upper side. Stems are deep burgundy, almost black. This variety of elephant ear can grow up to 5 feet tall in 1 season. In the mid-atlantic, elephant ears should be treated as annuals, however the bulbs can be harvested at the end of the growing season (October) and stored in a cool dry place during winter months. They can be replanted in spring.

Elephant ears thrive in dappled sun, but can tolerate more or less sun if needed. They LOVE water and should be watered regularly.

Arrives to you in a gallon-sized pot.
