Cerastium tomentosum

Commonly called snow-in-summer, this herbaceous perennial forms a low-growing, mat forming groundcover. Clusters of white flowers rise above the evergreen leaves giving the look of snow cover and the common name. Expect blooms in late spring (June).

Plant in a sunny location with dry, well-drained soil. Prefers dry, sandy locations, but tolerates many different soils as long as they are well-drained. Drought, rocky/sandy soil and deer tolerant.

Use as a groundcover, in a sunny border, rock and cottage gardens. Recommended companion plants include: Allium, Lavender, Campanula, Thyme and Euphorbia.

Arrives to you in a quart-sized pot.
