Carex rosea

Commonly known as Rosy Sedge, this native grass has finely textured green blades that grow in dense mounded tufts and are perfect for the shaded areas of your garden. Inconspicuous flowers appear in late spring above the grassy leaves, providing nectar for native insects. It gets its name from one small part of the seedhead that is a rosy color.

Plant in part sun to part shade as this grass will do well in shady woodland areas. Rosy sedge adapts areas that are both moist or dry, making it a great choice for many areas of the garden. Deer resistant and attractive to butterflies, this sedge is perfect for helping with erosion control.

Wonderful when mass planted along paths or as a groundcover. Also a great option at the front of borders, in rock gardens and in containers. Combinations of Wild Blue Phlox, Jacob's Ladder and Wild Geranium all make excellent companion plantings.

Native to North America.

Arrives to you in a quart-sized pot.
