Carex flacca 'Blue Zinger'

This low woodland sedge forms a dense tufted mound with narrow foliage. Leaves are a blue-green and can be semi-evergreen. Greenish-white flower spikes emerge in late spring to early summer and are inconspicuous.

Plant in a part shade to full shade location with moist, well-drained soil. Will do well in wet or seasonally flooded areas. Deer resistant, this sedge would make a great woodland groundcover. 

A good choice for rain gardens, woodland areas and when used in mass plantings. Companions in the garden include Astilbe, Allium and Ophiopogon.
