Calamagrostis acutiflora 'Caspian'

Commonly known as Feather Reed Grass, this ornamental grass is noted for its foliage. The compact, tufted nature of this grass adds textural interest to the garden bed. Silvery feather plumes arrive in summer and fade to a tan in fall. 

Plant in full to part sun with average to moist, well-drained soil. Plumes make excellent cut stems for dried flower arrangements. Deer, rabbit and drought tolerant, make this grass an easy choice for the landscape. Cut clumps to the ground in late winter before new growth appears.

Use in borders, containers, informal and cottage gardens. An excellent choice to be paired with Helenium, Nepeta, Coreopsis and Agastache in the garden. 

'Caspian' features green foliage with dramatic plumes in late summer and fall.. Mature size is 2-3' tall.
