Granny Smith Apple is one of the most commonly grown commercial apple varieties, and now you can grow it at home yourself!

Granny Smith is an early ripening variety, usually producing mature fruit by late summer. Fruit is tart, tender and suited for both raw and cooked consumption. The tree itself is smaller than most varieties, only growing to 12-15' maximum, which makes it a great choice for home growing. The fruit also has a long shelf life- lasting for up to a month after harvest.

It's important to note that this variety will need another variety of apple tree nearby to product fruit. Any semi-dwarf apple variety will do. Ensure that the tree is spaced 15-18 feet apart for proper pollination. Ginger-gold Semi-dwarf is typically a healthy and low maintenance tree, only needing light regular pruning and some pest prevention.
