Anemone x hybrida 'Red Riding Hood'
Anemone is a large group of flowering plants that is part of the Ranunculacea family. They are commonly called Windflowers. They are native to subtropical areas of most continents. They typically grow 1-2 feet tall and about the same in width. They prefer part sun or dappled shade, but can do well in most conditions except full sun. They all feature tall upright flower stems with small, 1.5" flowers in shades of pink and white.
‘Red Riding Hood’ features stunning poppy-like, rosy pink flowers that bloom abundantly from July through September. Good for part shade. The flowers are held on sturdy, upright stems that can withstand tough weather conditions. These compact flowers have dense green foliage.
The fall seed heads are like little ivory cotton balls that last and give interest to the fall garden until a good, hard frost. Use a winter mulch in colder regions, particularly if planting in the fall.
Perfect to plant in sunny borders, to edge paths, or in a garden pot.
Arrives to you in a gallon-sized pot, as shown in photo 4.
