Crape Myrtle 'Tonto'

Lagerstroemia indica v. tonto

Although originally native in Asia and Japan, the Crape Myrtle has become naturalized in much of the southern US, particularly in Virginia and the Carolinas. It's become a staple in many people's gardens, mainly due to its fast growth, and vibrant, large blooms. Tonto features large bright magenta-red blooms that show in late summer and fall. Expect growth up to 18 inches per year.  Some pruning is required in order to shape pink velour into tree form. Does best in full sun and average soil. Arrives to you in a 3 gallon-sized container as shown in photo 3.
