Salix discolor

Pussy Willow features striking, tinged pink catkins that bloom in early spring, sometimes as early as February. Commonly used to increase the interest of your landscape before later spring blooms, and also used as an early spring cut flower. Salix discolor is a dioecious species- male & female flowers are produced on separate plants. The trunks of Pussy Willow are typically clustered with a strong upright form that provides good cover and nesting sites for a variety of birds.

Perfect to plant towards the back or perennial borders or mass plant as a hedge. Prune as needed in late winter to early spring. Plants may be cut to the ground every 3-5 years to maintain a smaller shrub shape.

Arrives to you in a 2 gallon-sized pot, approximately about 4' tall.
